Liam and Noel Gallagher are the warring rock and roll star brothers whose bitter rivalry has been reignited once again after the younger sibling had a new dig at him.
Liam, 49, sparked the bitter feud with his older brother after calling him “an a**e licker”.
The rock star made the swipe on Twitter after it was suggested that Noel, 54, had more talent than him during their time in Oasis.
Liam had taken to Twitter to take shots at ex-footballers Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard while celebrating Man City edging out Liverpool for the Premier League title on Sunday (May 22).
As numerous Liverpool fans rushed to defend the former England player, one wrote: “Noel had the talent.”
Liam, 49, replied by tweeting: “As an a**e licker.”
The brothers formed Oasis, which originally also consisted of Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Paul McGuigan and Tony McCarroll, in Manchester in 1991.
Liam and Noel have barely spoken to each other directly since Oasis split in 2009 when they had a bust-up before a gig in France.
But Liam has regularly taken a pop at his brother in interviews and on social media with witty one-liners.

Back in 2016 Liam had tweeted “Potato” to accompany a side-profile shot of Noel, giving his brother a new nickname that ended up sticking.
He then posted a grumpy-looking picture of Noel “Pouting Potato” and has used “Potato” to describe him several times since.
In 2017, Liam also had a pop at his brother employing a professional scissors player on stage.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1 he said: “I’m gonna have someone sharpening a pencil at my gig. It’s gonna proper blow people’s minds.
“I find that a bit strange—the scissor thing. Do you know what I mean? It’s like, it’s alright if you’re 20 and off your head on mushrooms and that, but the guy’s 50 now and if he really is trying to convince people that playing scissors is the right way to go about business, he needs to have a big long lie down, man.”
Back in 2016, Liam told Sky News what he thought his brother might be up to instead of attending the premiere of Supersonic, the 2016 documentary about Oasis.
He said: “He won’t be here; he’s in one of his really, really, really, big houses, probably eating tofu, while having a f****** face peel. Ain’t that right, man of the people?”
Ranting to Rolling Stone magazine in 2017 about Noel mixing in celebrity circles he said: “He’s a p****, he’s turned into the middle class. He’s turned into the establishment. He’s one of them. He’s all f******, like, Mr. Prim and Proper.
“The way he does Oasis songs, it’s like someone sucked all the f***** life out of it because he doesn’t want people jumping up and down like the old days.”
When Noel said an Oasis musical was “inevitable,” Liam reacted on Twitter by saying: “Oasis the musical 5 lads from Manchester start a band and take on the world the little 1 who writes the songs turns into a massive c*** sacks everyone except his little brother as he ain’t got the arse splits up the band there’s a story line for ya THE END,”
In 2019, when Liam was talking about the 25th anniversary of the band’s debut album, Definitely Maybe, Liam said: “I’m insulted that people think Noel Gallagher has been f***ing carrying this band for the last 18 years. People were saying, ‘Oh it’s going to be f***ing s**t.’ It’s like, are you tripping or what?”
“I like Noel outside the band. Human Noel – that’s my brother – I f***ing adore him and I’d do anything for him. But the geezer that’s in this f***ing business, he’s one of the biggest c*cks in the universe.”
“People think I’m just a f***ing lunatic, but Noel can be a little b*tch, too.”
And in another snipe at Noel and his relationship with Russell Brand, who was best man at his wedding in 2011, Liam said: ” Noel Gallagher, Russell Brand, f****** hell…what a pair of old housewives.”
If these remarks are anything to go by I don’t think the Gallagher brothers will be ending the feud anytime soon.
