Lorraine Kelly has left her loyal legion of fans baffled after she shared her family’s secret trick to maintaining their ageless looks which Hollywood legend Joan Collins swears by.
During Wednesday’s instalment of the popular ITV daytime show, the beloved Scott, 62, welcomed a facial expert onto the show who shared the three main products viewers must use to reduce their likelihood of poor skin later in life.
The medical expert advised fans to get into a regular skin care routine which includes an oil-based cleanser, a toner and a heavy-duty moisturiser.

But one of the most surprising items on the list was a tub of Vaseline which the TV presenter confessed has been used in her family for years to lock in their youthful appearance.
The mum-of-one confessed: “That’s so interesting you say that because Joan Collins swears by it and I have to say, my auntie Carol – who is ten years older than me – swears by it [too].
“She wears it every night, she puts it on her face every single night, [but] I always thought though that that would clog up your skin.”
The professional went on to debunk the theory that the petroleum jelly blocks pores, adding that it can actually help soothe acne sufferers.
The skin expert explained: “No so that’s a big myth, the whole idea that Vaseline clogs pores or causes acne, we know that’s not true from good clinical trials and evidence.
“If you have acne, it can actually help soothe acne and that’s been shown in research as well that if you have active acne.
“At night, if your skin is getting irritated from product use like anti-acne products, Vaseline can really calm it down and make you feel so much better so try it once. “

However, the unusual practice didn’t appear to go down well with viewers, who flooded to Twitter to share their thoughts on the thought-provoking advice.
One user penned: “Vaseline on your face?! No thanks…#lorraine” as another agreed: “You shouldn’t put moisturiser on your eyes because it plumps up the skin and would give you under eye bags!! #lorraine.”
A third quipped: “#lorraine Using Joan Collins as an example for youthful skin [eye rolling emoji] c’mon now.”
