Lorraine Kelly struggled to hide her disdain for Matt Hancock as Susanna Reid teased her about his appearance on her show when she dialled in from her studio next door.
During Tuesday’s (March 15) instalment of Good Morning Britain, the former health secretary confirmed that he will be taking five Ukrainians into his family home in Suffolk.
As the politician left the show, Susanna and her co-host Richard Madeley introduced Lorraine before they closed out their show.
And the pair couldn’t help but poke fun at her unfiltered opinion of Mr Hancock earlier on this month when she branded him a “pound shop milk tray man”.
As she joined them on the show, Lorraine was left red-faced as Susanna joked that the MP would be popping round with a box of chocolates during her show.
She said: “Good morning. Yes Matt Hancock, I saw. Yes, I saw,” as Susanna kindly explained: “I did not mention what you called him [in the interview]…”
Lorraine asked: “What was it? A pound shop Milk Tray man?”
Richard quipped: “Look, we’ve told him to go across and have a cup of tea with you,” as Lorraine appeared slightly annoyed, replying: “Oh thanks. Thanks so much for that.”
Susanna laughed: “He will be parachuting across with a box of chocolates,” as Lorraine clapped back: “Funnily enough, he has not come in to see me. I am so upset.”
The GMB host said: “So you see what he is doing? He is opening his house to refugees and 45,000 people have registered their interest.”
It comes after the mum-of-one spoke out following the “suspicious” parcel that what thought to be a bomb by ITV officials.
On Friday (March 11), Good Morning Britain hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway cut away to Lorraine in the studio to see what was coming up on the show.
During the segment, the GMB hosts asked Lorraine to clarify what has caused the ITV studios to evacuate the day before after the news broke that it was due to a “suspicious-looking” parcel that was addressed to her.
Ben asked her to explain what happen as he teased her that it may have been a “pair of suspicious underwear” that was delivered.
She explained: “It wasn’t, apparently I’ve been told somebody from a film company sent me a wee present and it had a battery in it.”
