Lorraine Kelly is planning an expedition to the Antarctic.
The TV presenter will go to the South Pole in 2023 and has been taking online Zumba classes and visiting Weight Watchers as part of her preparation.
Lorraine, who will be a real Scot of the Antarctic, told Health & Wellbeing magazine: “My husband and I just got back from a camping holiday in Namibia. We’re going to Antarctica in 2023 – and you’ve got to be fit to do these things.

“At the start of 2022 I had put on a stone and a half during the lockdowns and I was okay but I just didn’t feel myself.
“So I joined Weight Watchers. By the summer I’d lost a stone and a half.”
The temperatures in Antarctica can dip as low as -80C inland, and the icy and rocky terrain can be treacherous.
In 1912, British explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott and his men famously died trying to reach the South Pole so it helps if trekkers are in good physical shape.
Speaking about her Zumba teacher, Lorraine added: “She is just a ball of energy which is very inspiring.”
It comes after Lorraine revealed that she was running late for her workday for the first time ever – hours after waking up too early.
The ITV star was unfortunate after she woke up far too early for work overnight and then as she went back to sleep, she woke up far too late.
Lorraine, whose alarm would usually go up at 5:35am, posted the tweet at 6:35am on December 14 to confirm that she was running late.
Taking to Twitter to share her unfortunate news, Lorraine wrote: “So after getting up early, I’ve managed for the FIRST time to sleep in – YIKES!!!!”
It comes hours after Lorraine had posted a photo to reveal that she had woken up at 2am, hours before she needed to be awake, and went back to sleep.

She had posted a photo of the time, with her alarm set in the corner at 5:35am, as she wrote: “So this is a first. Woke up – convinced I’d slept in – super fast shower – threw on clothes and then looked at the time properly…”
Her ITV co-stars were some of the many to jump on the tweet, with one, Paul Brand, writing: “I loved that your alarm is set for 5:35 precisely. Every five minutes counts at that hour!”
