Lorraine Kelly thanks bosses as they point out wardrobe malfunction live on air

Lorraine Kelly thanked her producers after they pointed out an unfortunate mishap with her wardrobe for the day live on air.

The presenter, 62, was back on screens after some time away for the half term break and she jumped straight into things with Married At First Sight UK host Paul C Brunson and fellow ITV regular Ben Shephard.

And it was during the chat with Paul on Wednesday (November 2) that things went a little wrong, with Lorraine left completely unaware.

The duo sat down for a so-called Relationship Clinic, in which they offered viewers advice on keeping the spark going.

One of the bits of advice that Paul gave was to share at least one six second kiss with your partner every day.

Both of them were wearing a poppy pinned to their chest to show support for the Armed Forces and pay tribute to the upcoming Remembrance Day.

But as Lorraine moved around, hers dropped out of view completely, while Paul’s was fastened on better.

Soon enough, the interview came to a close and Lorraine thanked Paul for joining them for the romance masterclass.

And it was then that Lorraine addressed the accident, perhaps after a producer mentioned it in her in-ear monitor.

She reached down for the poppy and quickly stuck it back on, saying: “I’ve just realised my poppy has fallen off. There it is! See, I didn’t want to make a hole in my pleather, so I stuck it on and it fell off.”

Lorraine – who will front celebrity drag makeover show Queens for the Night on Saturday (November 5) – went on: “Thank you for letting me know.”

On the show, she was wearing a snugly-fitting khaki pleather dress, with the red poppy standing out against it well – which is what made the accident more obvious.

Luckily, all was sorted after producers stepped in and she went on to finish the rest of the show.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV
