Love Island bombshell 'sobbed' on her way home from Casa Amor before seeking therapy

Ex Love Island bombshell Savanna Darnell has shed light on her experience as she hopes to give a stern warning to the singletons of 2022.

The reality star who appeared in Casa Amor back in 2018 has said once your time to leave the famous Majorca villa is up, it’s not all as glamourous as we think.

Savanna, 26, claims since leaving the villa she has been left battling with her mental health after she was “young” and “naive” when she placed her trust in the bosses behind the ITV2 dating show.

The star claims bosses slid into her Instagram DMs and told her she would enter the villa as an original cast member.

Speaking about her experience, she told OK! Magazine: “I let Love Island take over my whole life that year – I gave up so much. But I guess I was just a naïve 21 year old back then.

“They were all telling me constantly how much they loved me, how amazing I was going to be, and how they appreciated how different I was because I wore Vans to the auditions when most of the other girls were in heels.

“I felt like they were totally on my side.”

Savanna made the decision to enter Love Island, putting her musical theatre career on hold before jetting to Majorca to go through the strict quarantine process ahead of the show.

However, after going through quarantine, Savanna was told she was no longer part of the original lineup and was flown back to the UK.

Just three weeks later, she was sent back out to Spain to be a Casa Amor bombshell.

However, Savanna claims that upon returning to Spain, she was told by producers that she would receive a lot of airtime during her stint in the villa.

Sadly, days after first entering the house, she failed to strike up a connection with her fellow singletons and was booted out, having featured in a small number of scenes.

Reflecting on this, she said: “I was working against the clock trying to forge a connection, I ended up spending a lot of time with Wes Nelson, and we shared a bed on the final night.

“He told me that he was going to take me to the main villa, but the next day he’d changed his mind.”

Savanna says after watching the footage back she was featured on “barely any” scenes.

Now, she says she “regrets” her appearance and she wasted “so much time and energy” on the show and has recently sought therapy.

Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 6th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub.Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
