Love Island bosses have revealed that they aren’t ditching the popular Movie Night segment, but one other favourite challenge won’t be returning this year.
Speaking to Daily Star, Love Island Executive Producer Mike Spencer reflected on the popular show segment Movie Night.
Revealing the good news for viewers, he said: “Movie Night – that was an in villa format, it was a more of passing information, way for them to see what happened, I think that was exciting – so watch this space.”
For those not in the know, Movie Night is a very popular segment that take place in the villa and airs for viewers at home.
Showing the Islanders clips from the show that they haven’t seen, last year Liberty Poole was shown a clip of her then-beau Jake Cornish talking about her behind her back.
Always a surefire way to get fireworks exploding in the villa, fans will be happy to know this segment will remain for the 2022 series.
But then Mike dropped a complete bombshell that will no doubt upset some avid watchers of the ITV2 dating show.
Revealing that one favourite challenge is getting the chop, Mike explained: “I think we’ve stepped away from the tweet challenge for now, I think we have enough content elsewhere and I don’t think we need to do the tweet challenge as it was before.”
This comes after ITV revealed the full line-up of contestants for Love Island 2022 on Monday, May 30.
The first episode is set to air at 9pm on Monday, June 6 – which means we are less than one week away from properly meeting the new cohort of hot singletons that are looking for love.
Revealing the first 11 new islanders, the Love Island Instagram account drip fed fans on Monday – revealing the likes of Gemma Owen, Paige Thorne, Dami Hope and Tasha Ghouri.
From estate agents to fish mongers, models and pharmacists, this year it seems the dating show has backed contestants with “normal jobs” – something that has left fans of the show overjoyed.
