Love Island Jacques shares sick death threats from trolls which forced him into hiding

Love Island star Jacques O’Neill has admitted that he and his mum received death threats from cruel trolls after his series exit and was forced to stay inside.

Jacques O’Neill was sent into the villa as a bombshell during the early stages of the show and sought romance with fellow islander Paige Thorne.

However, after his Casa Amor stint, things went sour between them and their relationship couldn’t be repaired.

He eventually decided to leave the show due to his mental health, but some viewers have reportedly sent hate to Jacques and his mother.

Jacques explained how he wants to work with kids who also have ADHD

O’Neill said: “When I first came out, it was very different for me. I was very scared of what was to come next for me. When I was in that holding villa after I’d left, I just wanted my mum and to go into hiding. I was getting so much hate, me and my mum were getting death threats. I was like: ‘Mum, we need to just stay in[side], we need to stay indoors’.”

Jacques said that he told his mother he was going to “delete social media” so he could “never be seen,” but something stopped him in his tracks.

Ben asked him about his plans for the future

He continued: “I started seeing loads of people contacting me saying I was an inspiration, [in regards to] the ADHD side of things, calling me a role model. I was like: ‘Wait, if they’re thinking this [about] me, I can’t just turn my back, I need to stand up and actually do something’.”

The former islander said that he “had fully grown men messaging him,” telling them that they “loved him” and that he was “an inspiration” to them, which left him “feeling overwhelmed”.

He appeared on the show alongside Dr Hilary

Jacques then addressed his followers and said that he “keeps posting ‘thank you’ [messages]” on his social media as “if it wasn’t for them, he’d still be in that dark place”.

He opened up and said: “I’d still be wanting to go in[side], I’d still be not wanting to leave the house. If it wasn’t for the people who were supporting me, giving me that love, I’d be in such a bad place.”
