Love Island star Sharon Gaffka has revealed that she’s aiming to make a major career change.
The reality TV personality, 26, shot to fame on season seven of the ITV dating show but was dumped after just 19 days when she failed to couple up with anyone.
Sharon worked as a civil servant for the Department of Transport before entering the villa.
Now, speaking to Nigel Farage on GB News, she said she wants to take her political career up a notch and become an MP.
She told the programme: “I would really love to see myself as a Member of Parliament one day.
“I definitely see that as where my career is going or investigative journalism. Definitely not standard influencer jobs or things that you see from Love Islanders.”
Fortunately for Sharon, Farage reckoned that her dream was achievable and replied: “I think you have every chance of becoming an MP, I can spot them a mile off.”
Sharon already has some things she wants to change when she’s elected and since leaving the villa she’s been a prominent voice raising awareness around drink spiking and online safety for women.

“I talk very passionately about spiking and police prevention of spiking on social media and I get a lot of young men telling me I ‘don’t know how to take a joke’ and I ‘don’t have a sense of humour’,” she told Farage.
The former UKIP leader replied: “I think it’s great that you’ve used your celebrity from Love Island to go out and campaign about things you care about and about things that matter.”
Sharon went on to say that she was living her “best life” working in Westminster before going on Love Island “as a bit of a running joke” with her friends.
That joke, however, went “a bit too far”.
She explained: “I got a phone call saying, ‘Three weeks later, you’re flying to Majorca, and you’re gonna go into the opening line-up of the show’.”
