Love Island star Davide Sanclimenti gifted his partner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu a promise ring while fans were confused on whether it was an engagement proposal.
The pair were enjoying a romantic evening in Rome as he presented her with the ring as he told his followers something “is missing” from her finger which left fans of the couple perplexed.
Davide, 27, shared a clip of the dinner date on social media as Ekin-Su, 28, was seen pulling out a stunning £1k Cartier Love ring from a box before placing it on her engagement finger.

Despite the confusion on whether a proposal took place, sources close to the couple confirmed that they are not engaged and the ring was simply one Ekin-Su had desired.

Davide captioned the Instagram post: “Our first Christmas together and our first time in Rome together, it was missing something on that hands tho.”
The post, which has so far garnered over 170,000 views and over 1,000 comments sent fans in a frenzy who rushed to the comment section with one person writing: “Is this an engagement or not?! I can’t tell, mom and dad, help us.”
A second user said: “He didn’t get down on one knee might be a promise ring?”
The confusion over a potential proposal may have also been down to Davide recently opening up on how he would propose to Ekin-Su.
He told The Sun: “I would think about something bigger, something nicer, even though Venice is beautiful.
“When I propose, I will need to organise something very big.”

The pair have become a famous duo after winning hit ITV2 show Love Island this summer, but it wasn’t always sunshine and roses between the two.
The couple were must-see TV during their time in the villa, having had several arguments with one particular bust up leading to Davide’s iconic phrase: “You are a liar, actress, go the f*** out.”
