Love Island's Amber and Dami 'raging' and 'disappointed' as they're coupled up together

Eagle-eyed viewers of Love Island spotted that newly coupled up Amber and Dami were “disappointed” that they got coupled up with each other during the first episode of this year’s series.

Taking to Twitter to join in with the #LoveIsland hashtag, fans of the show were quick to clock that new Islanders Dami Hope, 26, and Amber Beckford, 24, looked a little taken aback by the public’s decision.

After announcing the new rules, host Laura Whitmore revealed that Dami and Amber had been chosen to couple up by the general public – who were allowed to vote via the app last week.

Noticing how “raging” the pair were, fans were quick to comment on how “disappointed” the new couple looked.

One viewer penned: “Dami & amber are in mourning.”

Another added: “Dami isn’t impressed with Amber.”

A third was quick to take to the social media platform to say: “Amber didn’t not receive such a reception from Dami.”

While a fourth said: “Amber and Dami are mad awkward Omdz [oh my days].”

And a fifth offered: “Dami is RAGING, Amber is RAGING… this is gonna be an absolute hot mess!”

This comes as the 2022 series of Love Island burst back onto our telly screens tonight (June 6).

With a format shake up leaving viewers divided in an instant, this series is the first where the general public have taken on the role of cupid to pair up the sexy singletons.

Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine last week, Iain Sterling, who provides the hilarious voiceover for the show revealed that the popular dating show would see a format change for the first time ever.

Chatting away to stand-in host Christine Lampard, he said: “I’m never given any information ever but I’m coming at you now with a big fat exclusive.

“This year, for the first year ever, we want you guys at home to play cupid. You will have your say on which boy couples up with which girl.”

Viewers then flocked to the Love Island app and voted in a poll, which led to tonight’s coupling – which didn’t seem to impress many of the new couples tonight.

*Love Island airs weeknights at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVHub
