Love Island's Faye Winter warns there's 'no way to prepare' for aftermath of ITV2 show

Former Love Island star Faye Winter has revealed what her mental health was like after appearing in season seven of the ITV dating show.

Faye appeared on the show last year as one of the OG girls in the villa. After starting out with Brad McClelland and Liam Reardon, she eventually found love with financial consultant Teddy Soares.

The pair had many ups and downs in the villa, with one of their bust-ups receiving 25,000 Ofcom complaints, the most the show has ever had.

During a Q&A with her 1.2 million Instagram followers, Faye revisited her time in the villa and let us in to her honest experience with mental health once she had left the show.

Replying to a question asking for her thought on Love Island and mental health, Faye wrote: “Love Island do as much as they can to protect your mental health, however no one could prepare you for the show, there’s physically no way to.”

“I’d never suffered with my mental health before, yet when I came out I never felt so low,” she continued.

She added: “The opinion and not having the right support around me took its toll and I have no shame with saying I suffered bad.”

Since the deaths of contestants Mike Thalassitis, Sophie Gradon and host Caroline Flack, Love Island have taken mental health and the welfare of their contestants, whilst on the show and after the show, very seriously.

“I should of been saying no instead I was advised to do jobs which wasn’t me and didn’t fit who I was as a person,” she added.
