Love Island's India Reynolds 'grateful' she didn't do striptease challenge in villa

Former Love Island star India Reynolds has confessed that she would rather do a food challenge over a strip tease as she promotes more inclusive and diverse body types in the villa.

Throughout the popular ITV2 dating series, viewers excitedly wait for their favourite team challenges to be filmed, whether it be the group movie night, public tweets uncovered or the highly anticipated Casa Amor week-long challenge.

But it’s fair to say one of the most-hated challenges by fans is the gross food-based challenges which sees Islanders exchanging food from their mouths to fill up a full plate of food in the shortest amount of time.

And millions of fans up and down the country were relieved to hear from ITV producer Mike Spencer confirm that the telly bosses were “moving away” from the food-based challenges this series.

But the 31-year-old confessed that she would much rather take part in the disgusting food challenges over a saucy strip tease “any day of the week.”

It comes as the brunette beauty promoted her latest recycled swimwear line which dropped on June 17 in collaboration with underwear fashion giants, Pour Moi.

As fans of the popular ITV2 dating show prepare for another explosive instalment of the show, the brunette beauty sat down with Daily Star in an exclusive interview about the beloved challenges still to come.

While she reminisced over her time in the luxury villa, she admitted that she was “grateful” she didn’t have to strip during the show.

She explained: “I know that when I was in there [that] I was so grateful that I didn’t have to do the strip challenge because I don’t think I could have done that – not sober.

“No, no way could I have done that, I would have rather done a food challenge than a sexy dance any day of the week.

“I don’t think we did a food one, I think we did a water one and that was so much fun.”

The model went on to advocate for a more diverse range of body types in the villa after noticing ITV bosses tend to lean towards a specific ideal for contestants each year.

She went on: “I feel like there should be a lot more different body types [on the show].”

It comes after she spoke out about how she maintains her body confidence over the years in an interview with Heat World magazine.

The reality star told the publication: “It’s unrealistic to every day look in the mirror and not want to wish things were a little different, but nowadays I spend a lot less time thinkng about it.

“Your body is your body and you don’t want to reach 80 and be like, ‘why didn’t I wear a bikini or nice underwear all because I hated my body?’

“You’re only going to regret it. I think sometimes we spend too much time analysing ourselves.”

Speaking about her latest fashion line, India added how happy she was to see Love Island producers were using second-hand garments for this year’s contestants.

“I think it’s a good way to go about it and it’s good to encourage that younger generation that will be watching to buy more pre-worn and pre-loved clothes.

“I think everyone should be moving in that direction, so it’s always one of those things where the more changes we’ve make, even if we’re making you know, one at a time or just small changes, every little helps.”
