Love Island's Paige brutally abandoned her Tinder date after his car broke down

Love Island star Paige Thorne has revealed she savagely abandoned a Tinder date after his car broke down.

The Welsh paramedic has been coupled up with rugby ace Jacques O’Neill in the ITV villa, who used to go out with their co-star Gemma Owen.

But before she joined the show, Paige suffered a nightmare cinema date – which involved the hunk “sweating profusely” in the cinema before she left him sitting on the side of the road.

She told her fellow islanders about her “most embarrassing” date on Saturday night’s episode of Love Island: Unseen Bits (June 18).

Paige, 24, said: “It was a Tinder date, I’m cringing just thinking about it. We went to the cinema and watched a horror movie, and this guy just sweated the whole time, like profusely sweated.”

Dami Hope asked: “Was he scared or just because he was hot?”, to which Paige admitted it could have been a mixture of both, but it wanted to make her go home.

However, her date took a savage turn when the man drove her home, because she decided to make a swift exit despite him having car troubles.

Paige continued: “He drove me home, and rather than like turning off the car when you’re chatting, he left his headlights on and talked to me. His car fully broke down.

She couldn’t hold back her laughter as she added: “I just left him there! I just went home and left him sat outside my house.”

The boys were visibly shocked as they couldn’t believe what they’d heard, but Gemma could be seen giggling at the dating disaster.

Dami said:” That is peak!” before Paige revealed her date wound down his window to tell her his car battery died, but she didn’t seem to care.

Paige simply told him: “Okay!”

Asked why she wanted to join Love Island, she answered: “In Swansea there is just no-one I can find. I’ve tried and there’s just nobody there anymore.”

She admitted she needed to “break out and broaden” her horizons.

She said entering the villa means she doesn’t have to swipe on dating apps as everyone will be in one place.

Paige added: “I haven’t got to go out and I haven’t got to swipe. So, hopefully they can just come to me now!”

Love Island airs weekdays on ITV and ITVHub.
