MAFS UK's Matt and Whitney split as 'one was more into the other' says expert

Matt Murray and Whitney Hughes caused an uncontrollable eruption when they declared their feelings for each other on Married at First Sight.

Ditching their marriages while disrupting the experiment, Matt who was married to Gemma Rose and Whitney who was married to Duka Cav decided they had enough of their original partners.

But when Matt and Whitney did decide to embark on their romance, they left the MAFS UK experts and viewers at home stunned with how well things were going after a short period of time.

However since the couple have returned for the reunion show, it looks like their relationship may not have worked outside the experiment but could something still be salvaged from their experience?

Body language expert Darren Stanton has shared his opinions on the pair and aspects that may have caused their relationship to fail in the real world.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren shared his thoughts.

Although Matt and Whitney have displayed great physical and eye contact, expert Darren said the couple could possibly hit a bump in the road.

He said: “From a non verbal point of view, Matt and Whitney appear to be displaying all of the visual behaviours of a couple that have been together for much longer, like physical closeness and eye contact.

“Their affection towards each other seems to be genuine and there is an obvious attraction between the pair.

“However, I don’t believe that the relationship will be strong enough to overcome the number of sticking points that are present.

“As well as the distance, Matt and Whitney have barely spent any time together outside of the experiment, which could be a major issue going forward.

“While their body language appears to be genuine, I do believe that Matt and Whitney are still in early stages of their relationship and are yet to be properly tested.”

Matt could be more into Whitney

When Whitney and Matt had to face the experts to ask if they were allowed back into the experiment, Darren noticed that Whitney portrayed an anxiousness.

He said: “They were seen holding each other’s hand secretly under the table whilst having the meeting with the experts. However, I noticed in one shot Whitney’s leg was moving quickly under the table, which signifies anxiety or impatience.

“I feel there’s something at the back of Whitney’s mind she’s not disclosing yet.

“Whitney may not be having second thoughts, but I think that she is still protecting herself from getting hurt and her guard is up. She therefore wants to have a safety net in the form of feedback from the experts, as she may feel she is about to do something that could cause her heartbreak and she wants them to step in as a reality check.

“At this moment, I think Matt is more into Whitney.”

Could they give their relationship another go on the outside?

Time will tell if the couple’s relationship will blossom outside

Darren believes that Whitney’s concerns about their living arrangements could possibly rock the couple.

He said: “I think Matt seems to be the most grounded person within this relationship.

“It appears that Whitney has serious doubts and concerns, with the main one being distance.

“At the moment, they are cocooned in the experiment and together 24/7, but how will that work when the two are living in different parts of the country.

“I believe the distance is going to put a great deal of strain on the relationship, especially if Whitney is upset and needs Matt to be there for her.

“I can definitely see this being a major concern and stumbling block in their relationship,” he explained.
