Florence Pugh slammed ‘”vulgar” men in a passionate Instagram post after she stepped out in a nipple-baring hot pink gown for the Valentino Haute Couture show in Rome on Friday afternoon.
After reading an egregious amount of comments from men, pointing out her “flaws” and “tiny t**s”, the Midsommar and Black Widow star hit out at those attempting to “publicly destroy a woman’s body”.
Defending the dress, she started her Instagram response by acknowledging the reaction the dress would provoke, but admitted to feeling “excited” to wear it anyway.

She wrote: “Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn’t be a commentary on it. Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing.
“I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous. I wasn’t before, during or even now after.
“What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see,” she continued.
Florence, 26, went on to share her concern over just how “vulgar” some men can be.

Stating it was obvious that this “isn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers”.
She went on to share the insecurities she’s had with her body since a teenager, and how she’s come to terms with her appearance: “Thankfully, I’ve come to terms with the intricacies of my body that make me, me. I’m happy with all of the flaws that I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14.”

“So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny t**s’, or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat chested’.”
The star shared confusion as to why people were “so loudly upset by the size of my boobs and body”.

“What’s more concerning is…. Why are you so scared of breasts? Small? Large? Left? Right? Only one? Maybe none” Florence added, before declaring her pride at being raised “in a household with very strong, powerful, curvy women”.
“We were raised to find power in the creases of our body. To be loud about being comfortable,” she shared.

Finishing her message with a strong word about her attitude towards her fame, Florence wrote: “It has always been my mission in this industry to say ‘f**k it and f**k that’ whenever anyone expects my body to morph into an opinion of what’s hot or sexually attractive.
“Respect bodies. Respect all women. Respect humans. Life will get a whole lot easier, I promise. And all because of two cute little nipples,” she concluded.

Florence’s empassioned message led to her comments section being filled with support from fans and celebrities alike, including Jameel Jamil, who labelled her as a “magical f**king queen and we do not deserve you.”
Fellow screen star, Joey King added “You are truly amazing. You put into words what so many feel but can’t articulate.”
