According to Celebrity Net Worth, Meat Loaf had an estimated net worth of around £29million.

Considered one of the most successful musicians of all time, with Bat Out Of Hell being one of his best-selling albums, Meat Loaf’s huge fortune comes from his musical and acting ventures.

Born Marvin Lee Aday in Dallas, Texas, Meat Loaf – who changed his first name to Michael in 1984 – had loved performing since he was a young boy.

The singer moved to LA after college and started his first band, called Meat Loaf Soul. His first taste of success in music came in 1971 – after his role in musical Hair – when he partnered with singer Shaun Murphy and released the Stoney & Meat Loaf album with her.

They toured with Jake Wade and the Soul Searchers, going on to open for legends like The Who, The Stooges and Alice Cooper.

He had more acting ventures in the form of The Rocky Horror Show, where he played the roles of Eddie and Dr Everett Scott.

It was in 1977 that he released Bat Out Of Hell, after which he and songwriter Jim Steinman formed the band The Neverland Express.

He went on to record and release several more albums, the final one being Braver Than We Are in 2016. In November 2021, the singer posted that he and his band would be returning to the studio in January 2022.

Meat Loaf’s wife Deborah Gillespie was by his side when he died. Gillespie, who he married in 2007, is his second wife. Though his wife is from Canada, the couple used to split their time between LA and Texas.

He was previously married to Leslie Aday – the mother of his daughters Amanda and Pearl Aday. He and Gillespie, who had been married for 14 years at the time of his death, don’t have any children together.

A statement published announcing his death confirmed that his daughters and close friends were with him in his last 24 hours.
