Naga Munchetty 'clenches' in video from hospital bed as fans rush to support her

BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty has been heaped with praise by fans after sharing a video donation blood despite visibly shaking in the Instagram footage.

Fans praised the 45-year-old star for helping to “save lives” with her act of kindness as she is seen laying in hospital getting her blood drawn as she listens to music.

“Just done this @givebloodnhs with one of favourite blood takers @willflanders and a record time for me of 5 mins 21 secs for approx 0.5l Woo hoo! X,” she captioned the post

In the video she can be heard encouraging people to donate blood while admitting she is clenching her buttocks and raising her legs to get through the blood draw.

She said: “Hello, it is that time again – buttock clenching, leg raising, arm squeezing… giving blood today.

“I reckon I will be, what, six minutes? Seven minutes?” she then asked a medical professional beside her.

Naga said: “I am now with Ross who is now used to my skinny veins and makes it absolutely painless.

“I will be up and about after this with my day. So just know, if you want to give blood, you are doing a great thing.”

Naga continued: “I’ll be done. If you can give blood, if you want to give blood, you are doing a good thing. Anyway, see you on BBC Breakfast.”

And fans were quick to flood the post with praise, thanking Naga for raising awareness of blood donation.

Some even called the kind-hearted star a “life-saver” after her selfless gesture.

“Another life-saving gesture Naga!” said one fan.

A second added: “I wish i could give blood, i so would if i could. My mum has had blood when she’s needed it during surgeries such a life saver.”

“Love how you convey the importance of donating,” said a third.

Fans of the show took to Twitter earlier this week wondering if Naga’s co-star Dan Walker had left the comfort of the red sofa.

However, after being mysteriously absent this week, Dan Walker revealed he isn’t “taking time out after Strictly,” he was just taking a week off.
