BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty suffered an unfortunate microphone blunder outside Buckingham Palace.
Naga presented BBC Breakfast live from Buckingham Palace on Thursday morning (June 2) during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations – but it all went wrong for a moment.
She was keeping viewers up to date on the royal celebrations before the historic Trooping of the Colour parade taking place at the giant London palace on Thursday.
However, Naga needed a quick beverage during the broadcast – and she ended up interrupting her fellow BBC colleague Ashley John-Baptiste just seconds into his report.
Naga had just finished speaking to royal historian Kate Williams and handed over to Ashley who was catching up with royal fans gathering on the Mall.

But she made a quick request for a glass of water as she struggled through the royal coverage for a minute – and it seemed like she forgot to turn her microphone off.
It meant Naga’s bid to bag a beverage cut across Ashley’s introduction – so viewers heard her say: “Please can I have a glass of water?” from behind the camera.
Luckily, Ashley seemed relatively unaffected by Naga’s request and managed to move on with his report.

Fans had been waiting hours for the royal festivities to begin, with some travelling all the way from Calgary in Canada for the Jubilee, which marks 70 years of her majesty’s service on the throne.
One fan from Melbourne, Australia said: “fan from Melbourne, Australia said: “This is a dream come true, obviously with the pandemic I didn’t think I’d get here.
“I’m just looking forward to seeing it all and being a part of it. We don’t have this in Australia.”

Earlier in the show, Naga spoke to royal correspondent Daniela Relph about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who will both attend events over the weekend.
The royal expert confirmed the Sussex’s will watch the Trooping the Colour parade, but they’ll be placed in a separate building.
She said: “They’ll be part of a wider royal party that actually watches Trooping from a separate building. So they won’t be part of the big ceremony, but they will be there with other members of the royal family.”
