A fertility doctor impregnated unknowing women; it has been revealed in the shocking new Netflix documentary which has been highly anticipated by subscribers. The trailer dropped last week on 14 April.
The terrible real-life crimes were committed by GP Donald Cline, who he used his own sperm in a “sick experiment,” and fathered around 50 children without women’s knowledge or their consent.
The evil doctor would lie to women and tell them that the sperm used came from volunteer donors before covertly inseminating patients, the investigative documentary reveals.
The true story takes place in Indiana, America, and was directed by Lucie Jourdan.
It retells the stories from victims and their children and will be officially released 11 May 2022.
It wasn’t until the first victim realised that Cline was actually her real father in 2016 and contacted her local news station in Indianapolis about it that the story first came to light.
She urged her half-siblings to come forward and tell their own harrowing stories, before the story was reported by The Atlantic in 2019.
In the trailer of the show, one victim who carried Cline’s child said: “I had to tell my husband that, ‘we’re just now finding out that Julie is not yours’,” as her daughter burst into tears next to her mother.
Another victim said: “I think it was some sick experiment for him, most of us have blonde hair and blue eyes it was almost like this perfect Aryan clan. It is disgusting.”
While supposedly it appears Cline did not necessarily commit an actual crime, the siblings are insistent in fighting for justice for themselves and their parents, who had been duped into thinking their children were their own. The victims were able to conduct DNA testing at home, which helped them discover the disturbing truth of who their real father is.
One of Cline’s children spoke about the terrors of dating and making friends in the trailer, saying: “I dread every new match that comes in case its’s somebody I know or someone I dated.”
The trailer was released earlier this week, and has caught the attention of fans online who will be watching once it is goes live, one tweeting: “#OurFather on Netflix is actually insane,” and “That #OurFather documentary that’s coming to Netflix is wiiiiilld.”
Cline, now in his 80s, served no time for his actions – though he was handed a one year suspended sentence for two counts of obstruction of justice.
He also surrendered his license to the Medical Licensing Board of Indiana in 2018, and was prohibited from applying to reinstate his license again.
Because Indiana state law at the time didn’t specifically forbid fertility doctors from using their own sperm, no other charges were ever brought against him.
