Niall Horan falls 'extremely ill' on flight forcing him to pull out of TV appearance

Niall Horan has revealed he fell ‘extremely ill’ on a flight forcing him to cancel a TV appearance.

The former One Direction singer thanked British Airways staff who “took such good care of me” while on board a flight to the US.

The 28-year-old was due to appear on Ireland’s Late Late Show to chat with host Ryan Tubridy from his Los Angeles home.

However, due to falling ill the star pulled out of his appearance.

He took to social media to share his gratitude and news: “Thank you to the staff on that @British_Airways flight. I was extremely ill and they took such good care of me.”

The official Twitter account for the show announced said: “We’re deva! Unfortunately @NiallOfficial won’t be able to make tonight’s show”.

The show later shared a statement from Niall’s spokesperson: “”He’s very poorly & is so disappointed that he couldn’t be on the #LateLate tonight. However he is very proud of @leona_maguire and all that she has achieved!!””

Fans rushed to the comments section to wish Niall well.

One said: “What happened, Niall? Are you okay? I hope you’re feeling so much better now!”

Another wrote: “I hope you feel better soon. I send you a gigantic hug.”

A third said: “Really hope you get well soon, we all love you so much, take some time to look after yourself and get better x.”

British Airways also replied to Niall’s tweet, they wrote: “Thanks for your lovely comments about the care you received from our crew on your flight, Niall. We’ll be sure to pass on your thanks to them.”

Niall didn’t detail further about his illness, but a source told the Mail Online that the star “seemed fine when boarding” but later on in the flight he “had wet, cold towels around his head and neck.”

The source detailed: “On final descent he was vomiting quite violently.

“The crew were indeed superb, could not have done any more for him, and called ahead for BA Special Services to meet him on the plane and escort him through the border and to baggage reclaim.”

The source who received an autograph from the hit singer said how “polite and welcoming” he was despite the illness.

They added: “He seemed a little bit better at baggage reclaim.”
