Mescal, 26, has also recently spoken about his relationship with the 28-year-old singer.

Mescal followed Bridgers on Instagram during the 2020 lockdown, with the singer remarking in an interview with NME that “the cute boy” from Normal People had followed her, saying: “I got a little pitter-patter in my heart when I saw.”

Paul went on to talk with Bridgers during a lockdown livestream, saying at one point: “I think it’s well documented that I love your music,” with her replying: “Well, that makes me blush.”

The pair reportedly stayed on Zoom for hours following the live broadcast, with fans who watched the broadcast saying they felt they had gatecrashed the pair’s first date.

Mescal then starred in the video for her track Saviour Complex.

One fan commented on social media: “No because phoebe bridgers watched normal people, publicly thirsted over paul mescal and is now engaged to him and for that she’s my hero.”
