Oasis' Liam Gallagher 'buying £3.5million house' near one of his biggest rivals

Liam Gallagher is rumoured to be buying a £3.5million country home – near former Blur rival Alex James.

The Oasis legend, 50, is said to be joining the starry “Chipping Norton set” after checking out the property in the Oxfordshire town.

Alex owns a nearby farm – and famously had a battle for the No1 spot against Roll With It by Oasis with Blur’s Country House.

Other celebs living in the area include Jeremy Clarkson, the Beckhams and Amanda Holden.

A listing on estate agent Savills’ website describes the only £3.5m house on the market in the area as being an “extremely private” five-bed, three-bathroom property.

Situated just off the town square, the 5,042 square foot, 15th century, grade II-listed manor house has a dated but intricately designed look, ample garden space and a Roman style pool.

In 2020, Liam posted on Facebook: “I can see myself retiring in a wigwam. I bought one years ago when I lived in Henley, but it’s f***ed because a deer got in it and couldn’t get out.

“I’ve come back to the house one day and there was this f***ing commotion going on.

If the rumours are true, he could be living close to his old rival

“There’s f***ing holes in the f***ing tent and I’m like, ‘What the f*** s going on here?’

“And a deer from the f***ing field next door had gone in for a snoop and couldn’t get out and lost its f***ing mind.”

Now a keen runner, he recently revealed he is suffering from arthritis, leaving him in excruciating pain and probably needing hip replacement surgery.

Liam said he didn’t want a hip replacement due to the “stigma” around the op.

“My bones are mashed up,” he told MoJo magazine.

“My hips are f***ed, I’ve got arthritis, bad.

“I went to get it checked out and my bones are mashed up. The lady was going, ‘Oh, you might need a hip operation, a replacement.'”
