Olivia DeJonge has starred in several hits, but Elvis is about to take her stardom to another level.
After years of speculation and delays, Elvis is finally here starring Austin Butler, who spent years perfecting the role.
The musical biopic has cast Olivia as Priscilla Presley, the most important woman in The King’s legendary life.
The actress has been preparing for the part for years, as she explained to Vogue.
She said: “Given the nature of the story and the way that it’s been told, I really just wanted to make her grounded and real.
“Obviously, I watched a lot of interviews, but they were from when she was older, in her early 30s, whereas the film covers the years when she was 14 through to just after her divorce when she was about 27 or 28.
“And Baz [Luhrmann] really encouraged a lot of freedom to experiment. For me, it was just about playing a girl that really loved a boy.”
Austin may be the star of the film but Olivia is right behind him with a powerhouse performance – here is everything you need to know about the star.
What has Olivia DeJonge starred in?
Even though Elvis is now considered her major breakout role, Olivia has still been in some major hits.
Her first main series was Hiding where she played Tara Swift, but she soon found herself in a major studio release on the big screen.
She joined the cast of M Night Shyamalan’s The Visit in 2015, the handheld horror flick from the director behind The Sixth Sense and Signs.
From here, she joined the series Will before moving over to Netflix for the 2019 drama The Society.
Meanwhile, she was filming Elvis, leading her to the red carpet circuit she is currently enjoying.
Who is Olivia DeJonge dating?
Olivia is single, though rumours swept across the internet in 2020 that she was romantically involved with Austin Butler.
At the time, the pair were filming Elvis together, and stars hitting it off on set is nothing new.
They were reportedly spotted cosying up to one another in a cinema, but the claims were never addressed or verified.
Speaking to Marie Claire Australia this month, Elvis director Baz Luhrmann shared his initial concerns the pair didn’t have any chemistry.
He explained: “At first, we weren’t finding it, so on a Friday afternoon we all had gin and tonics and I got out the camera.
“I started shooting them as if it were a home movie, just Austin and Olivia talking, laughing and having fun. Out of that, they found a real connection through character.”
Olivia DeJonge’s net worth
According to hollywoodworth.com, Olivia has a net worth of $1million (£810,000).
She already starred in HBO’s The Staircase earlier this month alongside Colin Firth and Toni Collette, though no other projects have been confirmed at this point.
Announcements will likely be made in the coming weeks and months about her future projects, which will inevitable impact her net worth.
