Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen joked about her first ever encounter with ex-husband Clive, saying he “shouldn’t have opened the door” to her.
The 47-year-old TV star, who now shares nine children with Clive, announced that the pair were parting ways after 20 years of marriage.
At the time of their first encounter, Amanda had been a 21-year-old trainee shepherdess when the six-foot beauty tapped on Clive’s door looking for some work experience.

Straight away, the single farmer was instantly “taken with her” but it wasn’t a mutual feeling and was more of a “slow burn” for young Amanda.
On the Channel 4 show and while the twosome were still married, they reminisced about Amanda showing up on the doorstep in 1995.
Amanda recalled: “This first time you and I met you it was a very dark evening.”
She added: “And I’d come to borrow a tup, remember?”
Clive replied: “I do remember. This six-foot-something woman knocked at my door.”
Joking about their encounter, the shepherdess quipped: “He shouldn’t have answered it, should he?”
In response, he said: “No! But I was very taken with her, you couldn’t not be.”
The rest of the episode saw the family of eleven struggling through one of the toughest winters on record.
Although the couple had been married for over two decades, they announced in June that they were parting ways.
Taking to Twitter, to relay the sad news, Amanda told her 513,000 followers: “Clive and I are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate.
“This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family.
“Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together, with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children.
“We would like to thank everyone for their support and would ask that the media please respect our privacy as we work through this difficult time.”
