Amanda Owen, star of Our Yorkshire Farm, has opened up about “handling separation” in a sweet social media post – after her ex-hubby Clive landed a rival TV programme.
Amanda, AKA the Yorkshire Shepherdess, saw her Channel 5 show axed, while Clive and son Reuben landed a spin-off show called Beyond the Yorkshire Farm: Reuben and Clive.
Now she has discussed ‘separation’ – although not in the way fans might first think.

Amanda was referring to her horse Hazel and new foal Maple, who is currently being weaned in what can be a “stressful” time for the animals.
Sharing some adorable snaps of her daughter Clemmie grooming the horses, Amanda announced: “Hazel & Maple are handling the separation far better than we could ever have hoped for. No stress.”
It comes after Amanda confessed she was “not looking forward to” the task of spaining Maple, meaning separating her from mum Hazel.
She shared: “Christmas has been a busy time. One of the tasks that we weren’t looking forward to was spaining (weaning) Maple.”
The word spaining, sometimes spelt speyning, comes from Old Norse, with speyn meaning spoon. To speyn is to feed or wean.
And Maple already has a new pal to keep her company – Tony the pony.
Amanda added: “Maple has a terrific companion in Tony.
“When it comes to their differing statures, it’s not size that matters, just the size of their hearts. #LittleAndLarge.”
Amanda’s fans soon rushed into the comments section to praise Amanda’s dedication and offer support.
