A Luxury retreat, a £250,000 ring and a taste of each other’s blood – rapper Machine Gun Kelly really pulled out all the stops when he popped the question to Megan Fox.
The pair got engaged this week with the Hollywood actress gushing: “Just in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes. And then we drank each other’s blood.”
But this pair have got nothing on other stars, who have gone all out to pop the question.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian

In happier times, Kanye could not wait to make Kim his bride. And he did it in style – surprising the reality queen by hiring out baseball stadium AT&T Park in San Francisco to pop the question on her 33rd birthday in 2013.
The electronic scoreboard flashed up “Pleease Marry Meee” and he had had a 50-piece orchestra play her favourite Lana Del Rey song, as well as a Keri Hilson number featuring a verse written by…Kayne.
The whole proposal cost around £2.5million with Kim’s 15-carat diamond ring clocking in at £1.5million. The pair split last year.

In 2004, British singer Seal whisked Heidi away to the Canadian Rockies by helicopter.
He had commissioned an igloo to be built on a glacier and put a bed inside with rose petals and candles, as well as food and champagne.
The pair married on a beach in Mexico in 2005 and continued to renew their vows every year – but divorced in 2014.
Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey
The US comedian and actor popped the question to Mariah twice in 2008.
The first time he presented her with a 17-carat diamond hidden inside a candy ring lollipop.
Cannon then whisked the diva off on a romantic helicopter ride where he proposed once more.
They married shortly afterwards but separated in 2014.

Singer Katy had not one but two grand gestures starting off in 2010 when comedian Russell popped the question while the couple holidayed in India.
They were perched atop an elephant and fireworks were set off afterwards.
Sadly the union wasn’t to last and they called time on their marriage in 2012 after two years.

Katy then got together with actor Orlando Bloom who proposed in 2019.
Not to be outdone by his fellow Brit, he treated Katy to a helicopter ride where he produced an unusual flower-shaped ruby ring.
On landing they were greeted by family, friends and dozens of flowers. Now parents to daughter Daisy, they have yet to make it down the aisle.
Victoria and David Beckham

In the days before social media, rather than an Instagram snap, the Beckhams called a press conference to announce their engagement.
They made the decision to get engaged during 1998 LA Spice World premiere and David went on to get a £65,000 ring specially made for her.
Proposing at a hotel after a Man Utd game, he presented her with 30 roses before heading to their room which was decked out with £200 of flowers.
As a Girl Power pioneer Victoria then produced a £50,000 diamond-encrusted ring she’d bought for him.
They have been married 22 years.
Ludacaris and Eudoxie Mbouguiengue

The rapper, who features on Justin Bieber hit Baby, and Fast & Furious star proposed aboard a private jet in Costa Rica in 2014.
He had arranged for the words “Eudoxie will you marry me” to be projected onto the ground below.
Days later, they tied the knot and are still together today – despite revelations Ludacris had cheated on her before they wed.
Wayne and Coleen Rooney

Wayne Rooney proposed to Coleen at a petrol station.
They then headed home and celebrated with a meal of corned beef.
While it’s not always been smooth sailing, the pair are still together now after marrying in 2008.
They started going out when they were 16 after leaving school.
They welcomed their first child, Kai Rooney, in November 2009.
Second child, Klay Anthony Rooney, was born in May 2013 and their third son, Kit Rooney, arrived in January 2016.
Their fourth son Cass was born in February 2018.
David Walliams and Lara Stone

David Walliams slipped a £100,000 vintage Tiffany ring into Lara Stone’s burger bun while they were on holiday together.
He’d spotted she always removed the top to take out the salad.
They wed in 2010 but went their separate ways five years later.
Actor and comedian Seth Rogen was so eager to propose to girlfriend Lauren Miller, he rushed and started while she was topless. He joked: “I figured the only appropriate thing was to place the ring on her nipple.”
