Owain Wyn Evans posts exciting career announcement as fans 'miss him doing weather'

BBC star Owain Wyn Evans has made an exciting career announcement after he revealed that he’d landed his own Welsh-language chat show.

The meteorologist, who regularly appears on shows like BBC Breakfast and BBC North West, took to social media to inform his 88,000 followers of a huge new move in his career.

He has been missing from BBC news programmes and incredibly busy with his new chat show, Owain’s Talking Shop or Siop Siarad Owain in Welsh, which airs on Welsh-language channel S4C.

Along with his new endeavour, Owain is still recovering from an epic 24-hour drumathon which saw him raise a staggering £3.8million in donations for Children In Need.

But now it looks like Owain will return to his weather presenting roots, as he wowed fans with an adorable snap of him heading to a pub in the Yorkshire Dales to enjoy a very tiny glass of beer.

He promised fans he will soon be returning to both BBC Radio 2 and BBC North West from Monday (February 7).

In the sweet snap posted to Owain’s Instagram page, he could be seen wearing a thick emerald green jumper while holding a tiny beer stein with three fingers, the others held delicately aloft.

The star pursed his lips to take a well-deserved sip of his drink as he gazed towards the camera, his iconic strawberry-blonde quiff of hair perfectly coiffed.

Owain explained in the caption: “Dahlings… after a long day of mincing elegantly around the Yorkshire Dales it’s time for a very bijou pint-ette of beer.

Others were more distracted by his tiny ‘pint-ette’ of beer, as one gushed: “Owain you make me giggle!”, as someone else posted: “I love that teeny tiny little pint!”

“How cute is that?” another asked.

Fans were initially thrilled as Owain announced his latest huge career move, with the ‘drumming weatherman’ explaining that he would be hosting his very own chat show.

In his announcement, Owain told fans: “The talking shop is OPEN. So excited to be hosting my own chat show on @s4c for the next few weeks! Tune in tomorrow (Friday) at 2100 on S4C or @bbciplayer for Siop Siarad Owain (Owain’s Talking Shop).

“I’ll be welcoming @alexandraroach1 and @nigelrefowens as my fabulous first guests. Subtitles available for non Welsh speakers.”

So far Owain’s guests have included rock band Pendulum, Sir Gareth Edwards and Alex Roach.
