Ozzy Osbourne worked with the biggest names in rock on his new album, but he hadn’t heard of one of them – Taylor Hawkins.
The late Foo Fighters man drums on the LP Patient Number 9, out today, but Ozzy didn’t know who he was.
But the Prince of Darkness did like Taylor’s ideas, even if they were a bit saucy.
Ozzy recalled: “You know what (the song) Degradation Rules is about? Mastur-bation. Sticky little magazines. A toss-pot.

“There’s a line in there, ‘Red Tube rules!’ which is an ode to the free porn website. And, do you know who suggested that? The drummer, Taylor Hawkins, who died recently.
“To be perfectly honest with you, I’d never heard of him before he played on my album.
“But he must be good to play with Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters. He was a really nice man, one whose soul will surely last.
“I should imagine that everyone in that band was devastated when the poor guy passed away.”
Ozzy could be forgiven for not knowing who played on his LP because it was his producer Andrew Watt who asked all the legends to get involved.
The bat-chomping rocker, who performed live at an NFL game on Thursday night, laughed: “He calls them, and I bet they’re like: ‘Who the f*k is this?’ We got Jeff Beck and then Andrew said, ‘What about Eric Clapton?’ and I was like: ‘No, I don’t want to get pushy.’
“So he called Eric Clapton and he said yeah and I was like: ‘F k me, man!’”
As Ozzy’s musical legacy keeps growing so does his family.
Son Jack and his fiancée Aree Gearhart recently welcomed baby daughter Maple, while daughter Kelly is six months’ pregnant with her first child with Slipknot’s Sid Wilson.
Grandad let slip on SiriusXM: “She’s having a boy. I’ve got girls around because of Jack, so it’ll be good to have a guy around.
“I’ll teach him how to shoot birds with me air rifle.”
And it’s not just babies keeping him up at night.
He revealed: “I got 11 dogs now and they all sleep on my bed. Smells lovely at 7.30 in the morning.”
