Paul O’Grady famously hosts ITV’s For the Love of Dogs, a show which fans, and dog lovers, absolutely adore.
The 66-year-old host shared an update ahead of the episode as he posted a sweet snap of two pooches lounging on the sofa before wrapping up the final stint in the series.
Paul took to Instagram to share the snap of the two pooches cuddled up on a blanket as he wrote: “Arfur and Conchita taking it easy on the Lisa Dingle Memorial Blanket.
“The chair is covered up because Sausage ate the arm and took a chunk out of the back. PogDogs is on at 7pm tongiht on ITV and it’s the last one in the series.”
Fans immediately rushed to comments to share their frustration as it was confirmed that the series would be taking a break.
One person wrote: “Sad it’s the last in the series, but your dogs are so cute. Bad boy Sausage!”
Another said: “Ah bless them. Looking forward to watching later but sorry it’s the last in the series.”
A third person added: “Last in the series oh no! We will miss you so.”
Another fan added: “I wish it was on every week.”
The series follows Paul as he visits with the staff and dogs at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home as he meets with dogs who need treatment, training and new homes.
The sweet show often grips fans as an emotional series and viewers have always shared their absolute adoration for the famous ITV series.
Paul’s show has aired since 2012 and so far has nine seasons, with the series only growing in popularity since it first began.
The famous face often shares stunning snaps of his pooches, with Paul having multiple rescue dogs of his own.
The end of the series wasn’t the only blow to Paul O’Grady fans, with news dropping that his BBC Radio 2 show will be off air until May.
In a statement posted on his Instagram, Paul confirmed that he will be back, but the new process will see him do 13 weeks on air and then 13 weeks off air.
So although Paul is taking a slight step back from his previous jobs, he’s reassured fans that he’ll definitely be returning.
