Tonight viewers watched on in horror when TOWIE’s Pete Wicks was forced to exit Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins after suffering a grisly injury which left him unconscious and with broken ribs.
Pete knocked himself unconscious and suffered broken ribs when he jumped from a helicopter with his task partner, Ashley Cain.
He did recover and swim back to shore, but he was forced to exit after the accident.

Speaking about his injury and exit, Pete explained how he “had no worries about that challenge” before injuring himself.
Paired up with Ashley who “wasn’t the strongest swimmer”, Pete was focused on “looking after Ashley” which meant he wasn’t worried for himself.
“I genuinely thought this would be the challenge for me to show what I f***ing got,” he explained.
“And I got it wrong, I got it very wrong,” Pete admitted, adding: “I think my leg got a little bit caught in the bag and I went straight down onto the bag, knocked myself out and broke my ribs.”
The TOWIE favourite recalled how he was unconscious in the water and “doesn’t really remember much”.
Pete explained how he felt “dazed and confused” and was struggling to move his upper body.
“Basically, I think where I’d hit the bag, and I think just the impact of being unconscious and everything else, I was very confused.
“I didn’t really know exactly what was going on and even moving my arms was quite painful, just because the pressure that was on my ribs and everything, so it just wasn’t nice. It was just a strange, strange experience.”
The hunky TV star went on to say how he was “gutted” to be withdrawing from the show, adding that he “had always wanted to” appear on it.
“I’ve always wanted to do this show and the worst thing for me was to be taken out because that’s something that I can’t control.

“But being completely honest, they’re a hundred percent right because I wouldn’t have been able to carry on with my broken ribs,” he said.
“To have been out so early, I was absolutely gutted because it’s a fail. And unfortunately now for me, I feel like I failed. It’s something that will f***ing haunt me because I just don’t fail things.”

Keen to appear on the show in the future, Pete says he has got “unfinished business” with the challenges that awaited him.
