Peter Kay’s website crashed after he shared he was going on tour, which will see him return to the world of comedy following a five-year hiatus from the spotlight.
Stepping back from the public eye in 2017, Peter cancelled a 14-month tour because of an “unforeseen family circumstance” – but has now returned and seems raring to go.
On his official Twitter page on Sunday night (November 6), the comedian announced that tickets to his new tour will go on sale later this month on November 12 via his official website.

This all-new live stand-up tour – which will see him appear on-stage in Manchester and Birmingham before Christmas, and elsewhere in 2023 – will be his first in 12 years, which has left his fans more than overjoyed.
Fans instantly replied to the announcement, full of happiness and anticipation.
“This is AMAZING news . . . So happy,” penned one.
Another added: “Fantastic news! You’ve been missed.”
While a third said: “Brilliant to have him back… and what a fantastic advert,” referring to the video he posted (see below).
Minutes after his announcement, Peter’s website crashed which left fans fuming.
This very announcement comes after Peter performed at a “secret and unpolished” gig in September – which was clearly him gearing up for his return.
One gig-goer took to social media to speak about her experience at the secret gig, where she said: “Omg just been to a secret gig with Peter Kay at The Lowry.”
She added: “Best night of my life ever, that guy is a legend. Phones in locked pounces, secret ticket collection, the lot. Still buzzing.”
Prior to his “secret” gigs this autumn, the last time Peter was on stage was in August when he appeared at his Dance For Life show in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Donning an elaborate gold tracksuit adorned in a pattern that saw illustrations of discs cover the bomber jacket, the star looked joyful as he took to the stage.
And before his August gig stint, he was last seen on stage in May at the Ivor Novello Awards.
It was speculated earlier this year that Peter would be touring in 2023, so fans are no doubt overjoyed that this is true – and with the added extra of dates this year before Christmas.
