Prince Harry has said that he has settled into life in the US and revealed that the millionaire celebrity community has been “great” to him and wife Meghan Markle.
The Duke of Sussex said that he and Meghan have been “welcomed with open arms”.
Speaking to presenter Hoda Kotb on NBC’s Today show, he said: “Home for me now, for the time being, is in the States and it feels that way.
“We’ve been welcomed with open arms and have such a great community up in Santa Barbara.”
Talking about reconnecting with the Queen, Harry said she was “on great form” but that he wanted to make sure she was “protected” and had “the right people around her”.
This has caused controversy and debate in the UK about what the Prince meant by the comments.
Harry and Meghan flew to Windsor from their home in the US before heading over to The Hague in the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.
The Duke of Sussex said: “Being with her it was great, it was just so nice to see her, she’s on great form.
“She’s always got a great sense of humour with me and I’m just making sure that she’s protected and got the right people around her.”
Prince Harry continued: “Both Meghan and I had tea with her, so it was really nice to catch up with her”.
The Invictus Games were Harry and Meghan’s first trip since they quit their royal duties.
They were followed by a Netflix crew during their time at The Hague, as part of their £100m deal with the streaming platform giant.
After stepping back from royal life in 2020, the couple moved to their £11m mansion in Montecito, California, to start a new life of financial and personal freedom.
Prince Harry and Meghan have been living there with their two children Archie, 2, and Lilibet, who is ten months old.
