Princess Beatrice left red-faced at Glastonbury as her card is declined three times

Princess Beatrice was hit with an awkward blunder at Glastonbury Festival as her card was declined at the bar.

The granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth was celebrating the most popular festival in the UK with thousands of other revellers as she opted for a luxurious bar to pick up some refreshments.

Princess Beatrice queued up at the Pony Bistro restaurant in Glastonbury to order, but was quickly left red-faced as her card was declined three times as she tried to pay for her goods.

However, it didn’t dull her spirits as Beatrice joined her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi among the crowds at the festival.

Beatrice fit in with the many revellers on day one of the famous music event as she wore a khaki shirt dress paired with some black sunnies and white trainers.

Meanwhile Edoardo cut a casual attire in black jeans a white shirt and a black jacket as the pair mixed in with the rest of the crowd and wandered through the fields.

Beatrice’s appearance at the festival came shortly after she attended a very glamorous event at the Alchemist’s Feast – a summer party and fundraiser for the National Gallery’s Bicentenary campaign.

The music-filled weekend is certainly a stretch from her glamorous exterior just days prior – but she’s not the first royal to make an appearance at Glastonbury.

Both Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry have also made appearances at the famous festival in the past – and while Prince William has shared his desire to go, it doesn’t look like it’s on the cards.

He once told the BBC that both he and Kate are into music and have talked about attending, but he added at the time: “I’ve got into enough trouble for my dancing recently so it’s probably best to keep away from that.”

Countless famous faces have already been seen at the event this week, including Louis Tomlinson, Laura Whitmore and Zoe Ball.
