Ashley Roberts has revealed she’s ‘giving less f***s’ about backlash to her sexy outfits after turning 40.
The former Pussycat Dolls star celebrated the milestone birthday in September and earlier this month, rocked the BRIT Awards red carpet in a smoking cutout black dress with a dramatic thigh split.
Her name has long been synonymous with the sexier side of celebrity, haven risen to fame as a member of glamorous girl group The Pussycat Dolls and speaking recently, Ashley said age had given her the confidence to deflect any negative criticism about her raunchy attire.
She told The Sun: “As you get older, you start giving less f***s.
“You are more connected to yourself and wiser.
“I feel excited about the years to come because I feel better than how I felt in my twenties.
“Part of how I express my femininity is feeling sexy.”
Ashley regularly tantalises her 693,000 Instagram followers with sexy snaps and in 2019, reunited with her Pussycat Dolls bandmates.
The group performed their comeback single React together on The X Factor that year with their raunchy routine sparking more than 400 Ofcom complaints.
While the complaints weren’t upheld, the PCD reunion was ultimately short-lived as the coronavirus pandemic cancelled their planned reunion tour several times over.
On encouraging other women to put their sexiest foot forward, Ashley added: “It makes me sad to think about women not allowing themselves to feel that as we continue on.
“I’m like, ‘Let’s get our sassy, fierce, feminine sides out there’.
“Let’s embrace that part of ourselves. It doesn’t stop with age, right? I mean, we’ve all seen Jennifer Lopez at 52.”
Ashley will soon host The Real Dirty Dancing alongside Keith Lemon.
The E4 reality show sees celebrity contestants coupled up and taught the classic final dance from the hit Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey film.
