Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger has announced the group’s reunion tour has been cancelled due to “circumstances surrounding the pandemic”.
The stunning starlet announced the news on her Instagram account – but this was the first some of the other bandmates had heard about the cancellation.
This resulted in other members of the girl group releasing their own statements which conflicted with their lead singer’s.
Their repeatedly delayed reunion tour was hotly anticipated by fans however Nicole announced on Friday that it will no longer be going ahead.
She revealed that the “tour dates had to be cancelled” due to the “ever-evolving circumstances surrounding the pandemic.”
Nicole explained: “I have invested a huge amount of time, creative energy and my own finances into bringing this project back to life, and while I’m naturally incredibly saddened by this decision, I am also very proud of what we were able to achieve in the short amount of time we had together before COVID.”
The 43-year-old concluded by saying that she “can’t put into words the amount of love, admiration and gratitude” that she has for the group and their big fanbase.
However, hours later, her fellow PCD members Carmit Bachar, 47, and Jessica Sutta, 39, shared a joint statement on both of their Instagram accounts showing that they didn’t know about the tour being
The two women wrote: “We want to say how incredibly disappointed we are to learn of an announcement made on Instagram that the Pussycat Dolls reunion tour is canceled. As of now, there has been no official notification of that,”
“Either way, it seems as though it’s the end of a chapter to an incredible, life altering experience filled with some awesome memories that we will forever be grateful for.
“To the fans, we love you. Trust us, this is not the outcome we had hoped for. We wanted it as much as you because we appreciate you all so much and it hurts our hearts you had to wait so long for an answer, but unfortunately it’s out of our control.”
The pair went on to explain how although the tour may never come to fruition, it’s “is not the end of the Dolls story,” as they have worked hard and “created a sisterhood that will live on.”
Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin also released a statement on the matter, which said: “All of us have made personal & financial sacrifices, but that’s what it takes to be a team player in a ‘BAND,’” Antin, 60, wrote.
“Let’s not forget there are 5 other members of this group who I care for deeply, who deserve to be heard.
“There are truths to this situation, I just hope one day they see the light.”
The group’s two other members, upcoming Dancing On Ice star Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts have not yet publicly addressed the matter.
