Real Housewives' Rachel Lugo says show is 'more natural' but teases epic 'drama'

The Real Housewives of Cheshire’s Rachel Lugo has promised that the show will be bringing drama as producers have captured every moment “naturally”.

Rachel and her co-stars Katie Alex, Seema Malhotra, Lauren Simon, Lystra Adams, Sheena Lynch, Hanna Kinsella and Nicole Sealey return to screens tonight (August 22) for the 15th season of the ITVBe show.

But while the show is famous for its disastrous dinner parties which often sees the housewives in tears, Rachel admits that their trip abroad has been one of her favourites.

Despite the trip going well, the interior designer promises fans that there will be lots of drama in the new season.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star about the season, she said: “It felt very different in two ways, the first thing is we got an away trip which the pandemic has stopped for the last three seasons.

“It was lovely to be abroad because there’s nothing like it when we’re all together in a foreign country, you’re together so much more.

“Filming was in a different way, they’re catching much more of us in a much more natural way I think, we just seem to have different eyes and ears or producers bringing different things which to me made it so much better.”

Reflecting on their holiday, Rachel continued: “It’s one of my favourite trips, Lystra and I reached a whole different level of bonding when we went out after filming.

“The trip was brilliant, there was drama on it but it was also great, we were on these super yachts and private jets, it was super glamourous.”

During season 14, Rachel came to blows with former housewife Deborah Davies during a trip to Scotland.

Discussing this, she said: “There was a lot in that trip, that’s more to do when a new housewife comes in and you don’t really know each other.

“You try to explain why you don’t want to do something and you know, things go kind of awry but it’s always going to happen in the seasons.

“We’ve got a new housewife this season which brings its own funny take on it but it wasn’t funny for some people.”

She continued: “We’ve never had that in our group when one of our housewives has actually lived with a new housewives husband at some point.”

But Rachel admits that while the cast of Housewives are “intimidating” it appears Katie fits into the group perfectly.

“I really bonded with Katie, I think we all say how we feel, you’ve got to be strong to stay in this group otherwise you’re going to fade into insignificance,” she continued: “She’s on there for a reason and it’ll be because she has a voice and we need everyone to say what they think.”
