Comic Book Men star Robert Bruce has been found dead aged 62 in a New Jersey storage facility.
Bruce was a star of the AMC reality show, which aired from 2012 until 2018 on the US TV channel.
According to NJ.com, his body was found in a storage facility, with the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office currently holding an investigation into his death.
The publication reported that Bruce’s family became concerned after not hearing from him in a few days.
Reports add that it was thought Bruce may have been living in a basement storage unit within City Center Plaza, which also served as his office.
According to the report, foul play is not suspected.
A close family friend was the one to check the unit for any sign of Bruce when they discovered his body.
And Robert’s brother John was the one to formally announce the news on social media, explaining: “I want to inform you with great sadness that Robert Bruce’s (my brother) has passed away this past week in his office in Redbank, NJ.
“I’m leaving to go home tomorrow to help his family after being absent for many years. Prayers in this new year for him and his family.”
Bruce appeared in a total of 34 episodes of the hit reality series, and appeared as a consulting producer on a whopping 82 episodes.
He also appeared as an actor in flick Shooting Clerks as a Decent Samaritan and Burn in Hell, which is currently in post-production, as Father Lewis.
His other reality TV credits include Breezin’ with Bierman, The Grindhouse Radio and That Hashtag Show.
Showrunner Kevin Smith offered his condolences after hearing about the star’s passing, writing on Twitter: “My condolences! I’m truly sorry to read this John. @popculturizm was always a welcome addition to any episode of @ComicBookMenAMC, as well as a nice guy.
“I’ll miss Rob. (@AMC_TV shot a sizzle reel for a spin-off with Rob & his family before they got rid of all the reality shows.)”
Tributes from other fans are already pouring in, with one writing: “We had the privilege to interview Rob on @ComicCrusaders / @UndercoverCapes a few years back… he was so generous & I appreciated that.”
Someone else said: “Many condolences John, I enjoyed his appearances on Comic Book Men and early TESD podcasts. I hope that all his family take some comfort from the many well wishers on twitter who enjoyed his work.”
“RIP, our condolences to the family!” another posted.
