Rose Ayling-Ellis shares her Strictly 2022 winner as she teases Hollywood role

Rose Ayling-Ellis has revealed she’s backing Hamza Yassin to win this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The reigning Strictly champ was crowned ballroom queen last year with pro dance partner Giovanni Pernice after the pair won the hearts of the nation.

The ex-EastEnders actress left BBC viewers tearful with her incredible BAFTA-winning dance routine, which famously included a silent section to pay tribute to deaf people like her.

Rose picked Countryfile star Hamza to win the show during a chat on Friday’s edition (November 11) of The One Show, where she joined Lord of the Rings legend Andy Serkis on the sofa.

Asked by host Roman Kemp who she’s picked to win, Rose replied: “I feel like I shouldn’t have a favourite, but Hamza. He’s so lovely, and his feet [work].

“His feet are so good. I can’t believe that he got it so perfect in the first couple of weeks.

“I was like ‘How did you do that with your feet!'”

Host Alex Jones praised Hamza as she dubbed his dance moves “effortless”, prompting Rose to reply: “It’s hard to be effortless.”

Last week saw Hamza come out on top once again as they wowed with their Cha Cha Cha to I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch) by the Four Tops.

They bagged themselves three 10s and a total score of 38 points, meaning they sailed to the top of the leaderboard, and head judge Shirley Ballas dubbed it the best Cha Cha Cha she’d ever seen.

It comes after Rose teased a Hollywood career as she suggested she’d be up for starring in the global Star Wars franchise.

Asked if she’d ever star in the hit sci-fi franchise, the actress replied: “Why not?”
