Fans of SAS: Who Dares Wins were forced to do a double-take on Sunday night after they noticed new instructor Rudy Reyes looked very similar to previous instructor Ant Middleton.
The popular Channel 4 show kicked off with a bang for a brand new series with a very different style to the series that aired before.
But despite all the drastic changes that were in place, fans couldn’t help but spot the distinct similarity in looks between Ant and Rudy.
Heading straight to Twitter, viewers shared their thoughts online.
One person penned: “So they have replaced the annoying Ant Middleton with a clone.”
Another commented: “The new chief instructor of #SASWhoDaresWins is who you’d expect Hollywood to cast as Ant Middleton in a straight-to-dvd movie.”
As a third piped up: “30 minutes in and it’s led by a US Marine trying to look like a cross between Ant Middleton and John Wick.”
“Cross between Keanu Reeves and Ant Middleton. We don’t want no movie, genuine action only,” a fourth added.
But this wasn’t the only element of the show that fans were unsure about.
The introduction of American instructors Rudy and Remi Adeleke caused quite a stir online as many thought the British programme was becoming too “Americanised”.
Sharing their opinions on this, fans headed to Twitter once again.
One social media user said: “What a disappointment. What this American twist. SAS is supposed to be about the British special forces. American twist totally spoilt it. Garbage.”
Another added: “Anyone that knows British forces knows the Americans special forces have zero on SAS. Why the f**k we got Americans on this! Utter insult on the guys that served our country ffs.”
While a third echoed: “Massive fan of the show, being British SF was what made it. Far too American, can see it in Foxy’s face.”
Former marine and British soldier Ant Middleton, who was a part of the show since it began, was dropped by Channel 4 after making controversial comments about the Black Lives Matter movement.
