It has been confirmed that Jamal Edwards has tragically died, aged 31.
Jamal was the son of Loose Women star Brenda Edwards, who shot to fame on The X Factor in 2005.
The British entrepreneur, author, director, DJ and founder of the online urban music platform SB.TV was 31 years of age.
The entrepreneur’s passing was confirmed by his company SB.TV, which soon resulted in an abundance of moving tributes from friends, fans and loved ones.
Ty Sports, the co-founder of @NeverAFoul took to the social media platform and penned: “The death of Jamal Edwards is truly devastating. One of the true pioneers of the music scene. Starting off SBTV and becoming so successful at such a young age.”
He continued: “Was raised just a few miles down in Luton. The streets have lost a real one. Can’t believe it, rest in peace.”

British rapper AJ Tracey wrote: “RIP Jamal Edwards, west London legend status.”
Tally from Krept & Konan took to Instagram to share a moving tribute which read: “The first person to ever give us our first opportunity to any established platform was Jamal. He was the first to believe and he is a major reason we are where we are today.
The tribute continued: “I cannot believe this news I’m heart broken and I’m sending love and prayers to all of Jamal’s friends and family. Rest in perfect peace my brother. Thank you for everything and your contribution to British music. Forever a legend.”

Denise Welch, who stars alongside Brenda Edwards on ITV’s Loose Women took to Twitter and said: “My heart aches for my friend Brenda. I can’t bear it. Jamal Edwards was a wonderful son and brother.”
Zarah Sultana, Labour MP for Coventry South also paid tribute: “The impact SBTV had on the UK’s music scene and British culture is immeasurable. Rest in peace, Jamal Edwards. My thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved him.”
The MOBO Awards’ Twitter account also penned a message which read: “We are deeply saddened to learn of Jamal Edwards passing. As the founder of @SBTVonline, his groundbreaking work & legacy in British music and culture will live on. Our hearts and thoughts are with his friends and family.”

Jamal was born in Luton, England and spent his early years in his hometown before making the move to Acton, West London.
When he made the move to West London it is thought that he lived with his mum Brenda, stepfather Patrick and younger sister, Tanisha.
His groundbreaking company SB.TV is an online media platform to discover emerging artists.
It was launched in 2006 and helped launch the careers of a multitude of artists, including the likes of Dave, Jessie J and global megastar Ed Sheeran.

Maintaining his link to Ed Sheeran, December 2021 saw the pair team up again and work together on a remix of Ed’s track Bad Habits.
The collaboration saw Jamal direct the track which featured Tion Wayne and Central Cee. Shortly after, Jamal went on to direct Fireboy’s Peru Remix with pal Ed Sheeran.
Jamal was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours list in 2014 from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He was awarded the coveted title for his work in music and his business, SB.TV.
