Steph McGovern 'really offended' Channel 4 producers with 'hostile' backstage act

Steph McGovern confessed to her Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch audience that she ‘really offended’ the show’s producers.

During a discussion about emoji etiquette, the TV presenter admitted to offending her colleagues by using a thumbs-up emoji in conversations.

She confessed: “I found out today that I’ve really offended some of my producers on the show by sending a thumbs-up [emoji], apparently sending a thumbs-up is very hostile, and it’s very passive-aggressive.”

Steph was joined by TV personality Denise Van Outen and MP Sayeeda Warsi on Thursday’s (October 13) episode of the lunchtime show, where they discussed the “hostility” around some emojis and replies.

After Steph’s confession, Denise admitted: “I do that as well [sending a thumbs-up emoji].”

To which Steph jokingly replied: “No, it’s really hostile. I was really shocked to find out this is hostile but then I thought, I might send my parents lengthy messages and they just reply with ‘ok’ and I’ll reply with ‘is that it?'”
