Strictly 'dance of death' revealed by Rylan as dancer left 'jobless' after show exit

Strictly: It Takes Two presenter Rylan Clark has branded the Charleston the “dance of death” after Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin were voted off the show over the weekend.

Fan favourites Ellie and Nikita danced the Charleston but were sadly sent home after they found themselves in the bottom two with Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu.

The dancing duo appeared on the BBC Two spin off show It Takes Two, hosted by Rylan, and joined him on the sofa to talk all things Strictly.

They discussed their final performance, going head to head against their pals Molly and Carlos, and watched their highlights reel.

Fans loved the pair’s on screen chemistry

However, Rylan noticed a pattern emerging and branded the Charleston as the “dance of death” as four out of six couples that have been eliminated were booted off the show for their Charleston attempts.

Ellie explained that she found the Charleston head to grasp before Rylan made a savage quip.

He said: “Dance of death, this series, by the sounds of it!”

Nikita then joined in to say: “I’m just saying, four [out] of the six, yeah?”

Rylan’s savage comment left them all laughing

Rylan shouted in glee as he registered Kuzmin’s savage dig while Ellie giggle beside him.

Later on in the show, Ellie got emotional about “what she is going to do now”.

She contemplated her days without training as “Strictly is everything” to her and she feels “heartbroken” because she “doesn’t know what she’s going to do now”.

Nikita then joked: “Darling, I’m jobless now!”

He quizzed the couple about their time on Strictly

Rylan chortled in the background as Ellie told him that “at least” he can go and clap for the other contestants, but Kuzmin once again teased her and said that it is “the only job he has” now.

Simmonds laughed and continued on to say that it will “be so weird” not dancing with her former partner “from nine until six” everyday.

Rylan then commented on their relationship and asked him what he wanted to say to Ellie.

Nikita then held back the disappointment as he told the presenter that it is “a little hard to talk right now” as their loss is still so fresh, but gushed over his “great experience” with Ellie.
