Strictly Come Dancing winner Debbie McGee looks completely unrecognisable with bright ginger hair for her upcoming stage acting debut.
The 63-year-old performer – who won the Strictly Christmas special in 2019 with Kevin Clifton – will play a “whacky medium” named Annie for her upcoming performance in The House On Cold Hill.
In newly released photos, Debbie looks utterly different from her usual appearance as she donned a bright ginger bob and colourful shawl.
The trained ballerina also opted for heavy eye makeup alongside her vibrant new hair as she becomes the psychic.
She said: “This is me not being me at all. I’m playing a whacky medium, a red head who wears Dr Martens.”
She accessorised the look with a handmade loose turquoise necklace and an autumnal looking knitted bag.
Debbie’s upcoming performance will see her star in an adaptation of the Peter James book about the Harcourt family who moved into a haunted house.
Debbie’s character Annie runs a crystals shop and gets involved while earning some extra money as the family’s cleaner who starts to “feel things”.
Talking about her acting debut, Debbie said: “This is me not being me at all. I’m playing a whacky medium, a red head who wears Dr Martens.”
“It’s an incredible ghost story with lots of twists – the whole way through you really don’t know where it’s going.”
However, speaking to the Good Morning Britain presenters the former Strictly finalist admitted she wasn’t a “believer” in clairvoyance.
She added: “I can’t have lived with a magician for 38 years and believe in things like that.
“So I’m really having to act.”
Debbie first rose to fame as the assistant of magician Paul Daniels, who she was later married to for 28 years before he died of a brain tumour aged 77 in March 2016.
The House On Cold Hill will run for eight weeks from February 3 to March 26.
