Strictly's James and Ola Jordan have had 'horrendous' time as toddler battled illness

James Jordan and his wife Ola have opened up about the “horrendous” time they’ve had as their 23-month-old daughter has battled illness.

Little Ella has been suffering from a viral infection and a chest infection – and at one point the terrified stars discovered her unresponsive in her bed in the morning.

She is now on the mend after being in and out of hospital but the former Strictly dancers said it has been a tough few weeks.

“It’s been horrendous, I want to cry,” Ola told Hello! magazine.

Former Dancing On Ice star James added: “When you see your child that ill you feel helpless, don’t you? You wish you could just take it away but you can’t. I’m a control freak anyway so I find it really difficult that there’s nothing I can do. It really stresses me out and makes me tired and annoyed.”

The 43-year-old said it had been “tough” to go through.

James said that during her illness, Ella was sick as many as 30 or 40 times and that it was really “horrible” to watch.

He added that many people have told him that the worry never stops, because your child will always be your baby however old they are.

The pair said they had been blown away by the support from fans on social media, who sent kind messages and also offered useful suggestions.

Ola, 39, said: “So many people come back to you with ideas on what her illness could be. They say they’ve been through the same thing with their son or daughter.”

She added that it really good to hear what other people had experienced.
