EastEnders actor James Bye is under pressure to do well as so many of his co-stars on the soap have been in the BBC One ballroom and been big hits.
The TV favourite who plays Martin Fowler admits he is terrified about ‘‘going into the unknown’’ as dance is out of his comfort zone.
He explained: ‘‘I don’t know if I can dance, I might be amazing but it’s very unlikely that that is the case.

‘‘It’s more likely that, because I’m long, either my hands will be doing the right thing or my feet will be, but I don’t know if both will do the same at the same time.”
He added: ‘‘My best friend from EastEnders, Davood Ghadami was on the show years ago and he was great. I remember him doing the Paso Doble and that did look good.
‘‘Jake Wood, when he did the snake hips to Mambo No. 5, that was a million miles from Max Branning.
‘‘And I can’t not mention our reigning champion Rose Aying-Ellis from last series. She is such an incredible human being.’’
James, 38, has tried to dance before on TV when he part in a routine with his pals from EastEnders on Children in Need.
But he added: ‘‘I ended up in A&E as my meniscus snapped and I was rushed off to knee surgery.’’
It comes after the star watched his co-star Rose Ayling-Ellis walk away with the gold last year with her mind-blowing performance to Symphony by Clean Bandit which went on to win BAFTA.

The blonde bombshell was partnered up with Giovanni Pernice who stole the hearts of the nation with their impressive routines and blossoming friendship.
Her fellow dance partner even went on to permanently ink their win onto his arm after he shared a tribute tattoo to his former ballroom partner on social media.
