The Apprentice fans sure show is 'hiding' something after spotting 'green screen'

The Apprentice fans were left baffled – and convinced the BBC show is “hiding” something – after spotting evidence bosses are using “green screens” in the filming process.

This week, the candidates were set a fishing task by Lord Sugar. As one sub-team headed down to Cornwall to sustainably catch fish, the others were set with getting orders from high-end restaurants and coming up with a dish to serve to the public.

But as the usual phone call came to the house at 4am, fans were soon baffled by the sunlight streaming in through the windows as the candidates lined up at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London.

Later they bundled into taxis, which were similarly lit with daylight despite the apparent early hour.

Taking to Twitter, one confused fan wrote: “Green screen outside car… what are they hiding?”

“Anyone else feel that #TheApprentice is way over produced this year? They clearly green-screened the car parts!” someone else posted.

While a third echoed: “Is #TheApprentice now using green screens for the cab shots? (And how is this 4:30am?)”

“Someone said last week that it looks like green screens when they are ‘in’ the taxis and I cannot take my mind off of it now!” someone else said.

Another viewer tweeted: “Just us or did the cab windows look like green screen?”

Later in the episode, both teams headed out to sell their catch of the day – but problems abounded, as one sub-team completely forgot to mention crab in a sales meeting, and the others failing to add chips as an up-sell on their products.

Some viewers were rather confused by the task itself – as some of it appeared to rely solely on whether the candidates were any good at fishing.

Francesca even barked at her fellow fishers that they “weren’t working hard enough” as they failed to reel in any pollock.

One baffled Twitter user asked: “So part of this task hinges on actual fishing ability? Wha next? ‘I’m quite good at Mortal Kombat. Now please give me £250k to expand my cake business!'”

Someone else said: “I don’t understand some of these challenges on The Apprentice. How can anyone be expected to correctly gut a fish untrained, which has a direct impact on sales, therefore something they can be eliminated for?”

“Is fish preparation even something you can learn overnight? They were set up for failure!” another echoed.

The Apprentice continues next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
