Fans of The Apprentice couldn’t believe what they were witnessing on Thursday evening after two teams were bought back into the boardroom and Akeem Bundu-Kamara and Aaron Willis was fired as a result.
This week, the budding entrepreneurs were tasked with creating baby food and suitable packaging to hopefully sell to retailers Ocado and Iceland.
However, the task proved to be rather difficult for all candidates.
As a result, both teams gained no sales from their products, leaving Lord Alan Sugar no other choice but to bring all six candidates back into the boardroom.
When Lord Alan got into the nitty-gritty of what could have impacted the teams, it was clear Akeem’s logo for his product First Time Foodies didn’t do him any favours, as the retailers thought the word “dies” stood out far too much.
Meanwhile, Aaron’s product lacked flavour which was also picked up by the food stores.
With the two men backed into a corner, Lord Alan decided to get rid of the pair of them which means there will only be four candidates in the semi-final next week.
Seeing the drama unfold, fans rushed to Twitter to share their thoughts on the double exit with some claiming that Stephanie Affleck and Kathryn Burn also contributed to the failure of their tasks.
One fan penned: “Can understand Akeem, but Aaron going is completely the wrong call. Girls hung him out to dry, and Sugar has let them get away with it. Shocking.”
Another upset fan said: “NOOOOO WAY. NOPE NOPE NOPE.@Lord_Sugar has made 2 mistakes tonight. Aaron has been strong throughout. Akeem has been made a scapegoat?! Didn’t he make 1mil in orders at 1 point?! Stephanie and Kathryn should have gone.”
A third chimed: “Gutted that Aaron and Akeem have gone. Wrong decisions by Lord Sugar. How the hell have Stephanie and Kathryn got away with it again.”
While a fourth added: “If Aaron has gone and Akeem stays I will never watch this programme again! Akeem has piggybacked off other people’s wins, Aaron has really stood out!”
Fans will have to wait till next week to find out how the remaining candidates will do during their nail-biting interviews.
