The Black Dahlia Murder's lead singer Trevor Strnad dies aged 41

The Black Dahlia singer Trevor Strnad dead aged 41, as bandmates pay tribute to the star.

The cause of death has not been officially confirmed, however, the band did include a phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline on their recent social media post.

The group took to social media with a statement that read: “‘It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Scott Strnad.

“Beloved son, brother, and Shepard of good times, he was loved by all that met him. A walking encyclopedia of all things music.

“He was a hugger, a writer, and truly one of the world’s greatest entertainers. His lyrics provided the world with stories and spells and horror and whimsy.

“It was his life to be your show.”

Other tributes from friends, fans and other musicians have continued to pour in over the devastating loss of Trevor.

Stray From The Path drummer, Craig Reynolds, commented: “Metal wouldn’t be what it is today without him. can’t believe it. RIP trevor strnad. every death metal band with two singers only has two singers because neither of them could do what he did.”

Guitarist Nick Hipa wrote: “Devastating loss of an incredibly talented and wonderful human being. Love and condolences to you all.”

A fan shared: “This is utterly devastating, love you so much Trevor. Rest in power brother. We love all you guys so much”

“Ao sorry to hear this. Love to y’all and all of Trevor’s loved ones. His time in this world made it a better one for everyone who ever met him,” posted another.

Another metal fan penned: “Today really fucking sucks. You guys were a big part of bridging so much music for me in my early twenties. Literally a few weeks back went back and listened to all the albums in a row. My deepest sympathies.”

A friend also said: “What the F***. This is unbelievably sad. I’m so sorry you guys. I just saw him again 2 months ago and I’m grateful I did. Sorry for your tremendous loss.”
