“Eyes, cheeks, chin, tummy, whatever I can afford. That’s it. It’s money I haven’t had an I think it’s time, everything’s heading south.”

A stunned silence fell over the studio as contestants and Bradley were seen looking stunned before offering up an awkward giggle.

“How old are you,” asked Bradley. Upon learning she was 59, he reassured her: “well I think you look great. But what you wanna do is what you wanna do.”

“Bless you, thank you,” she replied.

Fans at home also reacted to the statement, saying: “Nikki is my age and looks fine as she is to me #TheChase,” another added: “Plastic surgery good on yer! #Thechase.”

Another doubted she’d make enough to cash to pay for her makeover, saying: “#thechase Steady on girl with that Plastic Surgery. Its The Chase not the Euro Millions…”

The episode took a shocking turn when three of the four contestants were eliminated leaving Nikki to face chase Sean Wallace – aka The Dark Destroyer – alone.

She managed to answer 11 questions correctly with £6k in the prize pot but was caught out by Sean with 29 seconds remaining.

Bradley and Sean both applauded Nikki for taking on the final chase alone, after she appeared nervous in the earlier rounds.

Bradley then reassured her that the loss of prize money was a sign she didn’t need plastic surgery after all.

He said: “Maybe this is mother nature’s way of telling you you don’t need any of that stuff.”

Sean also echoed the same sentiment, saying; “You don’t need a nip and tuck you’re gorgeous as you are.”

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV from 5pm.
